Tylose (CMC) by OTT is used to harden fondant to create gum paste or to set your figurines and flowers!

Tip: Tylose’s fine texture is also perfect for creating your own edible glue. Dilute 1/4 teaspoon Tylose into 2 tablespoons of warm water, leave in the fridge overnight with a lid or until clear and diluted. Adjust as needed with water.

To harden fondant decorations, add approximately 1 teaspoon of Tylose to 250g of fondant and knead in well. You will instantly feel your fondant take on a firm texture. It will continue to harden with exposure to air. Store in an air tight container when not in use to avoid your fondant drying out.

To speed up the process of setting your fondant, put your icing in the freezer (not the fridge). This will help your fondant to dry out.

The amount of Tylose needed may vary slightly depending on weather conditions or the colour of your fondant (high humidity or dark colours use more Tylose).
