Vegetable Shortening or Solite can be used when making buttercream or mock cream. It will give you a white base icing as well as it being dairy free.

Use the Shortening or Solite as a non stick coating on surfaces or add it to your fondant and gum paste to achieve a softer consistency.

Use: To make buttercream or mock cream, simply replace the quantity of butter required with Vegetable Shortening or Solite. Mix well to achieve a smooth creamy finish. When adding to fondant or gum paste, add very small amounts at a time.
