Buttercream Galaxy


"I was asked to create a Birthday Cake for my niece (she's 14 and didn't want anything too girly!). Her favourite colours were Black, Blue, Purple & Pinks. I have had a galaxy cake on my mind for a long time now and it was a great way to finally unleash all my inspired ideas!
I used Creative Paste Colours (my favourite range) to dye both my cake batter & Buttercream. To achieve a true colour I added White Paste Colour into my batter prior to colouring - this takes off the yellow tinge.
It was as simple as layering my different colours of buttercream and blending it in to create a galaxy design. To bring up the true galaxy colours i covered in Pearl Colour Mist and added White 100's & 1000's as stars."
